“'Football saved my life.'”
Tavante Gammage, a 28-year-old MGA nursing alum, is setting his sights on the NFL after working as a certified nursing assistant and personal trainer.
During his time at MGA, Gammage played club football for the University, where he was "considered a great talent, humble, and coachable." He pursued a career in nursing, a path where he felt he could positively impact others. However, despite his love for nursing, he couldn't deny his passion for football, a sport that's served as a blessing, helping him overcome past hardships.
“'I’m just looking to inspire the young men to understand there is a way out of what you're accustomed to or what you've seen on a day-to-day basis,' he said. 'There is a way out if you take this game seriously and if you really focus and cut out all the distractions.'”
