Middle Georgia State University’s (MGA) Bachelor of Science in Aviation Science & Management, Advanced Flight (Airplane) has been regranted full accreditation for another five years by the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI), the accreditation body for collegiate aviation programs. This distinguished recognition reaffirms the School of Aviation’s commitment to graduating knowledgeable and skilled aviators, managers, and leaders in the aviation industry.
Founded in 1988, AABI serves as the official accrediting entity for all collegiate aviation programs. AABI accreditation confirms that aviation programs have been professionally evaluated and “achieve and maintain a level of performance, integrity, and quality that entitles them to the confidence of the educational community and public they serve.”
To establish AABI accreditation, aviation programs must successfully satisfy and maintain the expectations of a “wide range of quality criteria relating to strategic management of resources, interactions of faculty and students in the educational process and achievement of degree learning goals. An AABI team of academic and industry members visits the institution seeking accreditation to evaluate the programs against accreditation standards and criteria.”
