MGA FIRST Lego League Regional Tournaments: Volunteers Needed - December 7 & 14

Please consider joining Dr. David Biek, dean of MGA's School of Education and Behavioral Sciences, on December 7 and 14 on the Macon and Dublin campuses as the School hosts its 7th Annual FIRST Lego League Regional Tournament - a robotics competition, LEGO building contest, and science fair rolled into one! Georgia has the most teams and most participants in the entire country. The tournament is such a popular STEAM initiative that leadership (HQ is CEISMIC at Georgia Tech) is considering splitting Georgia into two sub-states!

MGA has 36 teams from school districts around the region already registered for this year's tournament. MGA will be hosting 36 4th-8th-grade teams this year (240+ students) hailing from nearly as many school districts in our region. This is a great way to get involved with our youth and to foster name recognition with our University.

The theme this year includes the Arts, making it a true STEAM initiative!

MGA is in need of volunteers to assist at the tournament, but the biggest way individuals can help is to become a judge for the competition. The time commitment will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Family members and friends are also welcome. Those interested in volunteering may register here.
