National Respiratory Care Week 2024
October 20-26
Happy National Respiratory Care Week!
Respiratory Therapy is a specialized healthcare field where practitioners are trained in pulmonary medicine in order to work therapeutically with people suffering from pulmonary disease, caring for the neonates, pediatrics, and adults. The majority of Respiratory Therapists work in intensive care units and complete most of their training in these critical care areas. Service to others is the foundation of the respiratory care profession. RTs make it their mission to deliver consistent, high quality patient care, often in the most challenging of circumstances.
MGA offers a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy on our Macon Campus, a program in existence since 1994!
Right now, there is a regional and national shortage of respiratory therapists, and career opportunities abound. Please take a moment to visit a few of the links below to learn more about what it means to "Be an RT!"
