Dr. Greg George, director of MGA’s Center for Economic Analysis, talks to 13WMAZ about the impacts of federal employee changes in Georgia after Donald Trump ordered current federal employees to return to the in-person office operations or face termination.
"Federal employees were also given the opportunity to resign with pay through September.
"'It's expected that anywhere from five to ten percent might accept the offer,' Middle Georgia State University, Director of Economic Analysis Greg George said.
"George says at this time there is a lot of uncertainty about if this offer is legal, but if approved, it could offer more efficiency within the workforce.
"'Ideally in an economic system, you don't want a lot of workers doing the work that a few workers can do. It's a waste of quality workers and we need those workers in other areas in healthcare and things like that,' George said."
