The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Middle Georgia State University hosted the 43rd annual Math Olympics on Friday, Feb. 21. A total of 197 high school students from 17 Georgia schools competed in the all-day event, with Wesleyan School winning the varsity competition and Columbus High School taking first place at the junior varsity level.
Participating schools included the Academy for Classical Education, Central High School, Stratford Academy, and Tattnall Square Academy in Macon; Baldwin County and Lee County High Schools; Lowndes and Valdosta High Schools in Valdosta; Columbus High School in Columbus; Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology in Conyers; Gatewood Schools in Eatonton; Forsyth Central High in Cumming; Veterans High School in Kathleen; Killian Hill Christian School in Lilburn; Metter High School in Metter; and Friendship Christian School in Suwanee.
