As reported by The Henderson News, MGA Knights baseball signed West Rusk Raider Kullin Tavarez as a pitcher for the University's team. Though West Rusks's Spring 2025 Signing Day took place on Thursday, February 6, Tavarez verbally committed to MGA in July 2024.
"'We’re recognizing two people who have, for four years, have done basically everything you can to get the next level, on the field, off the field, in the classroom, in the cages, wherever we asked them to work,' said West Rusk AD/HFC Rafe Mata in remarks to assembled students before the signing ceremony. 'I know a lot of you, this is what your goal is. But you need to look at them and see the work that they’ve put in to get to this point. For these two guys, you see them in the weight room, the cages in the morning, the bullpen... it’s not something that comes easy... Cole, Kullin, congratulations. You’ve earned it. You’ve represented us well and I hope you continue to represent us well.'"
