Knights Defeat Cougars in Gulf Shores | Softball

Knights softball was back on the field on Saturday, March 8, as they were set to play another two games against Houston-Victoria and United States Sports Academy.

Game One, Houston-Victoria

The Knights struck early as Carmen Phillips hit a double and later scored on a passed ball to give the Knights a 1-0 lead after the first inning. The Cougars tied the game in the second inning but the Knights answered back in the third inning with a 2-1 lead. The Cougars scored two runs in the third inning and one run in the fifth inning to put the Knights behind 4-2. The Knights had a big sixth inning as they loaded the bases with no outs. A wild pitch allowed a run to score, Mel Bullock hit a two-run single, and an RBI triple by Alexis Cosgrove with an error that allowed her to score gave the Knights a 7-4 lead. The Knights held on to win 7-5.

Game Two, United States Sports Academy

The second game of the day was suspended due to rain and lightning in the fifth inning with the Knights up 1-0.
