Knights women's tennis was in Montgomery, Alabama on Thursday, March 13, and Friday, March 14, as they were set to compete in the first of two SSAC Roundups. The Knights were set to take on the Toppers of Blue Mountain and the Rams of the University of Mobile.
Match One - Blue Mountain
The Knights had no trouble with the Toppers as they cruised to the Doubles point with a 6-0 win in the #2 Doubles match and 6-1 wins in the #1 and #3 Doubles matches. The Knights continued to dominate in the Singles competition winning each set by a score of either 6-0 or 6-1. The Knights won the match 7-0.
Match Two - Mobile
The Knights had a bit stiffer competition against the Rams, but continued to have a step on the rest of the teams. The Knights won the Doubles point with a 6-1 win in the #2 Doubles match and a 6-2 win in the #3 Doubles match to take the point. Four of the six Singles matches were won in straight sets as that would clinch the match for the Knights. Ainhoa Meili Fernandez del Moral was in the #3 Singles match that was close throughout as all three sets came down to the final point. Fernandez won the match 7-6, 5-7, 12-10. Marina Prieto Gonfaus was locked in a battle in the #1 Singles match as well. After losing the first set, Prieto win the second set 6-1 and the third set 7-4.
