Knights baseball was back on the field on Saturday, April 12, as they played the third and final game of the weekend series against the 12th-ranked Wolfpack of Loyola University. Knights also celebrated Senior Day, with 10 players being honored as well as the 1975 Middle Georgia College team who celebrated their 50th anniversary.
The Knights got off to another good start against the Wolfpack as they loaded the bases in the second inning to set up Jose Vargas for a two-run single. The Wolfpack answered back in the top of the third inning with three runs as the Knights trailed 3-2. Zane Faulk led off the fifth inning with a double and Jaiden Duarte cleared the bases with a two-run home run that gave the Knights a 4-3 lead. Duarte was not done at the plate, as he would come up in the seventh inning and launch a solo home run to give the Knights an insurance run and make the score 5-3. The Knights pitching staff took care of business as they shut down the Wolfpack to get the 5-3 win. Isaias Espiritusanto recorded the win, going five innings and allowing three runs on five hits while striking out six batters. The Knights bullpen were the stars of the game as Jonah Friedman, Andrew Lowrey, and David Johnson combined to pitch four innings and allowed only one hit.
