Knights baseball was back on the field on Saturday, March 29, as they returned to Tifton, Ga. to finish off their conference series against the Stallions of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. The Knights won the first game of the series and were looking to come away with the series.
The Knights jumped ahead early in the game as Zane Faulk led off the second inning with a solo home run to take a 1-0 lead. The Knights extended their lead in the fourth inning after singles by Yadiel Perez and Zane Faulk set up Michael Flaherty for the RBI double. After the Stallions tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Knights regained the lead in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Yadiel Perez and they held a 3-2 lead. The Knights scored the final run of the game in the seventh inning after an error allowed Datren Bray to score and the Knights went on to win 4-2. Yadiel Perez was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate.
The Knights got on the board first in the second game of the day in the second inning after a lead off single by Zane Faulk and a sacrifice bunt by Teonis Pimentel helped set up the RBI single by Tate Abbott to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. The Knights surrendered the lead in the third inning after giving up five runs to the Stallions and they trailed 5-1. An RBI groundout by Datren Bray in the fifth inning closed the lead to 5-2 but the Stallions got the run back in the sixth inning. The Knights attempted a comeback in the ninth inning after an RBI triple by Jaiden Duarte cut the lead to 6-3 but the Stallions got the final out and the Knights lost the game. Tate Abbott went 3-for-4 at the plate.
