The fun is in the attempt! Knights joined hundreds from the Macon community on Friday, March 28, as they attempted to break the Guinness World Record for largest kazoo ensemble. The MGA Alumni Association provided tickets to alumni, current students, staff, faculty, and friends of the University to help break the record.
41NBC caught up with few Knights at the event!
"'Whenever you are breaking records, just show up because it’s definitely worth it,' said Hanzalah Tarid, a student at Middle Georgia State University."
Despite iving it their best effort, London still holds th record, with 5,190 participants in 2011. Michael Empric, adjudicator for Guinness World Records in New York, said the community should hold their heads high and take pride in the attempt.
"'I mean, if nothing else, trying to do a Guinness World Records title attempt is about coming together as a community, right? Trying to be something bigger than yourself and really sharing that moment, whether or not you’re successful.'"
