Knights men's tennis was back on the court on Saturday, March 29, as they faced the Wolfpack of Loyola University in the second match of the SSAC Roundup. The Knights were looking to get back on the winning track against a Wolfpack team that was ranked 25th in the latest NAIA poll.
The Knights got an easy 6-0 win in the #1 Doubles match but the Wolfpack won the #3 Doubles match as the Doubles point came down to the #2 Doubles match with Adria Pratdepadua and Daniel Garcia Suarez getting the 6-4 win and the Knights grabbed the 1-0 lead. The Wolfpack tied the match with a win in the #6 Singles match but the Knights got wins from Dominik Simunovic and Daniel Garcia Suarez to take a 3-1 lead. The Wolfpack won the #3 Singles match to make a 3-2 match but the Knights clinched the match with a comeback win in the #4 Singles match from Duarte Mestre as he won 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. The #5 Singles match continued to play out with the Knights winning that match and taking the overall match 5-2.
The Knights will return home for their next match as they get set to take on the Mariners of the College of Coastal Georgia on Monday, April 7, at 4 p.m. EDT.
