Middle Georgia State University (MGA) is celebrating Arbor Day with help from the Future Farmers of America (FFA).
For the fifth consecutive year, MGA will host an estimated 800 FFA students as they conduct volunteer work on MGA’s Macon Campus beginning Wednesday, April 23, through Saturday, April 26. Guided by University Plant Operations representatives, FFA students will generously donate their time and talents to support beautification efforts across campus gardens.
On Wednesday, April 23, and Thursday, April 24, MGA will host an Arbor Day celebration and tree planting ceremonies at 11 a.m. behind the Macon Campus Enrollment Center. The MGA community is invited to attend the ceremonies, where staff will add a shady lane Compton oak and an American dream swamp white oak to University gardens. As part of the celebration and planting ceremonies, staff will provide a demonstration for FFA students on proper tree planting techniques and present an Arbor Day proclamation.
