MGA's Leadership and Character Development Program Hosts Character Education Workshop

On March 28, MGA's Leadership and Character Development Program hosted a character education workshop at Wake Forest University. Titled “Integrating Character Education into Courses and Co-Curricular Activities,” the workshop is designed to educate professionals about integrating character education into their courses and co-curricular activities. Dr Elizabeth Whiting, director for Leadership and Character Formation in Wake Forest University’s School of Medicine, facilitated the event.

On March 28, MGA's Leadership and Character Development Program hosted a character education workshop at Wake Forest University.

The workshop was a tremendous success, with 50 faculty and professional support staff in attendance. By the end of the workshop, participants were able to:

  1. Better understand MGA's character education story and imagine its next chapter
  2. More clearly see MGA students' current character strengths
  3. Discern MGA students' character education needs and how faculty/professional support staff could meet those needs

“I developed a more enhanced understanding about character education after this workshop,” said one participant. “The methods and structures used are a great way to empower students within their context.”
