The below email was sent to all faculty and staff from Dr. Christopher Blake, MGA president, on Monday, June 9, 2025.
Dear Faculty and Staff:
Over the past year, the Office of President has reviewed the senior administrative organization of the University, with three goals:
Recently I requested the USG system office to review our plan and to provide feedback. That process is now complete, and I am pleased to share here the senior administrative changes that will take effect as of July 1, 2025. These changes will help drive MGA forward into its second University decade, strengthening leadership in several domains.
Dr. David Jenks remains Provost and Chief Academic Officer and is additionally promoted to Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. Supporting Provost Jenks' leadership is a new position of Vice Provost that will serve as the second administrator of the Academic Affairs division. Dr. Rod McRae will assume this new responsibility, focusing especially on external educational outreach and oversight of our University Centers.
A new administrative division is being created, that of Planning and Institutional Strategy. It will supervise the offices of General Counsel (including Title IX), Strategic Planning, Accreditation & Compliance, ITS/OTR, and Institutional Research. This division will be headed and led by Dr. Monica Baloga, as Chief Planning Officer and Vice President for Institutional Strategy. Supporting the leadership of this new division will be Ms. Renee Rainey, J.D., who is promoted to Assistant Vice President. Dr. James Blackburn will lead a newly unified ITS/OTR department as Chief Information Officer and Mr. Geoff Dyer will become Deputy CIO and Executive Director of OTR operations. The Office of Institutional Research will continue to be led by Mr. Duane Day as a department of this new division.
As part of our transition to NCAA D2 Athletics, Mr. Michael Brown, Director of Athletics, will report to the president and maintain close operational collaboration with the division of Student Affairs. Ms. Megan Tucker, our Director of Internal Audits, will also report to the president, as well as to the USG system office.
The other senior administrative divisions of Finance & Business, Student Affairs, Government Affairs & Chief of Staff, Enrollment Management, and University Advancement/Foundation remain as currently structured and purposed. The revised organizational chart for the senior administration of the University will be published on our website and available from the Office of Human Resources, as of July 1.
I thank those senior staff and administrative colleagues who will assume new responsibilities in the coming year, as well as those continuing their current service and leadership.
Go Knights!
Chris
