School of Computing Welcomes Fifth Doctoral Cohort

The School of Computing welcomed the fifth cohort of Doctor of Science in Information Technology candidates to campus the week of July 14. Twenty-one new doctoral students met with faculty members, program alumni, and staff members who will support the students throughout their next two years of doctoral study. The week of activities culminated a six-week online course taught by Dr. Valerie Mercer, assistant professor of information technology.

The School of Computing welcomed the fifth cohort of Doctor of Science in Information Technology candidates to campus the week of July 14.

In addition to instructional activities, the group participated in a writing workshop, library orientation, team-building activities, and program orientation sessions over four days. They also attended an evening lecture and a Macon Bacon baseball game. Upon completion of Residency 1, students will take online courses for the next two years and finish the experience with a culminating research project and presentation.
