Launching This Fall: Monthly Dimensions of Wellness Initiative

The below email was sent to all faculty and staff from Dr. Jennifer Brannon, vice president of Student Affairs, on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

Happy Purple Thursday Everyone!

We’re excited to share that beginning this fall, Middle Georgia State University will launch a yearlong Dimensions of Wellness Initiative—a campus-wide effort designed to promote holistic well-being for our entire University community.

Each month, we will spotlight one of the Eight Dimensions of Wellness, offering intentional opportunities to educate, engage, and support students, faculty, and staff in meaningful ways. This initiative is a direct reflection of our commitment to Strategy 3: Build Culture and Identity in the MGA Strategic Plan—specifically, Priority 9: Promote a culture of wellness throughout the MGA community, which calls us to embed and enhance wellness throughout University culture and activities.

What to Expect

  • Each month, Student Affairs will send out an email/social media post introducing that month’s wellness theme and sharing related events and activities listed in MGA Knight Life.
  • We’re asking offices, departments, and divisions to contribute an event, workshop, or program that aligns with the designated wellness themes.
  • Your contribution doesn’t need to be large—just intentional. Together, we can create a vibrant, inclusive wellness culture that reaches every corner of campus.

We encourage you to support one another’s events, collaborate across units, and look for ways to align your efforts with the monthly wellness themes. Whether you're co-hosting programs, sharing resources, or amplifying events already taking place, your teamwork will help magnify the impact and build a truly connected wellness experience for our MGA community.

Monthly Themes & Sample Ideas:

  • August – Social Wellness: Welcome Week socials, student org fairs, commuter mixers
  • September – Intellectual Wellness: Faculty lectures, book clubs, trivia nights
  • October – Emotional Wellness: Mindfulness workshops, journaling sessions, stress relief events

Thank you for your support, creativity, and participation. If you have questions or would like help brainstorming programming ideas, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Let’s build wellness into the heart of MGA—together.

Go Knights!
