Middle Georgia State University has announced Rebecca Edwards, senior lecturer of new media and communication, as the new Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year. Edwards takes over for Bill Hervey who previously served as FAR since 2014.
FAR plays a crucial role in acting as a bridge between the faculty and the athletic department while fostering communication and collaboration for the academic success of student-athletes.
"We are thrilled to welcome Professor Edwards into this role and look forward to working alongside her to continue to see student-athletes thrive in the classroom and their respective sport," said Michael Brown, MGA's athletics director.
