Middle Georgia State University (MGA) has been awarded a $29,986 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to launch a yearlong exploratory project focused on integrating digital technologies into the humanities.
The initiative, called Fostering Opportunity for the Community and Underserved Students (FOCUS) in Digital Humanities, aims to lay the foundation for a future Digital Humanities Lab within MGA’s School of Arts & Letters, helping students gain valuable, career-ready skills.
"This project is about opening doors," said Dr. Monica Miller, an MGA associate professor of English who serves as principal investigator for the project team. "By combining the strengths of the humanities with emerging digital tools, we’re preparing students not only to adapt to the modern workplace but to shape it."
