IT Students Explore Tech History at Museum of Technology

Students in Tina Ashford’s Perspectives on Computing in Society course recently visited the Museum of Technology (MoT). The educational outing was designed to give students a deeper understanding of how past innovations have shaped our present-day use of technology.

At the museum, students explored a collection of vintage computers and other technological artifacts. They learned how the constraints and design choices of early engineers laid the groundwork for the modern digital tools we use daily. The visit highlighted how historical developments in computing continue to influence our social interactions and the way we access and share information today. The excursion served as a powerful reminder that to understand the future of technology, one must first appreciate its rich and foundational past.
