The MGA Foundation has recognized two exceptional figures in healthcare with their 2025 awards. The Legacy of Leadership Award was presented to the late Donald Robert “Don” Avery, a respected leader in healthcare whose longstanding support and partnership with the University left a lasting impact. The Outstanding Alumnus Award went to Tracey A. Blalock, a distinguished nursing administrator and healthcare leader who began her journey toward professional excellence as a student at MGA.
Dr. Christopher Blake, president of MGA, presented the honors during the annual President’s Gala, the Foundation’s signature fundraising event celebrating leadership, service, and community partnership.
“The MGA Foundation is honored to recognize two individuals whose achievements and service reflect the highest ideals of leadership and community engagement,” said Nancy White, vice president for University Advancement and executive director of the MGA Foundation. “Don Avery’s life exemplified servant leadership, and Tracey Blalock, in all aspects of her life, reflects the heart of Middle Georgia State University’s mission.”
