Middle Georgia State University’s Department of Respiratory Therapy and Health Sciences is a recipient of the 2026–2027 American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) Apex Award for its exemplary demonstration of best practices in respiratory education and care.
The AARC Apex Award recognizes hospitals, clinics, and educational programs nationwide that demonstrate the highest standards in patient care, evidence-based practice, and professional education. Middle Georgia State (MGA) is among a select group of institutions across the country to earn this national designation.
Established in 2017, the AARC Apex Award highlights excellence in six categories: acute care hospitals, international acute care, long-term care facilities, education programs, home medical equipment companies, and dedicated transport teams.
“These organizations are leaders in our field - setting the standard for high-quality respiratory therapy,” said Dana Evans, president of the AARC. “Earning the Apex Designation reflects not only specialized clinical and educational expertise but also a deep commitment to advancing care for patients of all ages in the communities they serve. The AARC is proud to recognize the 2026–2027 Apex designees for their exceptional contributions to our profession.”
