Ryan Sapp is set to become the first student from the Griffin Region College and Career Academy’s dual-enrollment partnership to complete the Aviation Maintenance Technology certificate at Middle Georgia State University (MGA).
The Griffin-MGA collaboration, launched in 2023, creates an early pathway into one of Georgia’s most in-demand technical careers by allowing high school students to begin aviation maintenance coursework before transitioning to MGA’s School of Aviation in Eastman.
“Aviation needs more qualified mechanics, and early engagement is key,” said Martin Kehayes, chair of MGA’s aviation maintenance and structural technology department.
