Middle Georgia State University remains steadfast in its commitment to student success. For many of our students, access to basic needs such as food is essential to achieving that success. To help support this mission, we invite you to participate in the Polar Plunge, a fundraising event benefiting Knights’ Table, MGA’s campus food pantry.
On February 25, members of our campus community will take a chilly plunge to raise funds that directly support students experiencing food insecurity. Every contribution helps ensure that Knights’ Table can continue providing essential resources to students in need.
Ways to Get Involved
Faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in any of the following ways:
Make a donation to Knights’ Table through the MGA Foundation.
Vote for the colleague you would like to see take the plunge when voting opens on February 16.
Sign up to take the plunge yourself on February 25.
Taking the Plunge
Faculty and staff who choose to take the plunge are asked to complete the following:
Register by February 20.
Make a minimum ten dollar donation by February 20.
Participants may donate more and are also welcome to ask others to donate on their behalf.
Arrive on February 25 prepared to jump, bringing a towel and a change of clothes.
Event Times and Locations
Macon Campus at 10:00 AM at the University Pointe Pool
Cochran Campus at 3:00 PM at the Recreation and Wellness Pool
Volunteer to Be “Voted In”
Faculty and staff may also volunteer to be part of the group eligible to be voted into the plunge. Volunteers who choose this option are not required to make the ten dollar donation.
From February 16 through February 20, donation boxes displaying volunteer photos will be available in the following locations:
Macon in the SLC Lobby
Cochran in Georgia Hall
Each donated item placed in a box counts as a vote. The volunteer who receives the highest number of votes will take the plunge. Any volunteer who receives fifty or more donated items will be required to take the plunge regardless of vote totals.
Your participation, whether by plunging, donating, or voting, directly supports Knights’ Table and strengthens our efforts to meet the essential needs of MGA students. Thank you for considering involvement in this campus‑wide initiative.
