MGA Education Senior Earns Statewide GaCLD Grant

The Teacher Education Department is proud to announce that Ms. Mackenzie Bentley, a senior in the Elementary/Special Education program, has been named a recipient of a grant from the Georgia Council for Learning Disabilities (GaCLD). Her project, "Supporting Success in an Inclusive Classroom: Tools and Strategies for Diverse Learners," was one of only four selected statewide this year.

Mackenzie currently works with first graders, including students with and without disabilities. She will utilize the $250.00 award to purchase supplies that facilitate positive behavior support strategies, ensuring every student has the tools they need to thrive.

Dr. Jane Strong, who recommended Mackenzie for the award, noted: "We are so proud of the work Mackenzie is doing in her classroom and for her demonstration of evidence-based and inclusive practices!" Congratulations, Mackenzie, on this outstanding achievement and your dedication to the teaching profession.
