Congratulations to Dr. David Biek, Dean of the School of Education & Behavioral Sciences; Dr. Paul Gladden, chair of the Department of Psychology & Criminal Justice; and Katie Shephard, assistant director of Instructional Design/Instructional Designer in MGA’s Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, who have been awarded a $15,000 Affordable Learning Georgia Transformation Grant.
The grant will support the adoption, adaptation, and creation of open educational resources for PSYC 2103: Introduction to Human Development. The team will use OpenStax’s Lifespan Development textbook to develop a no-cost Brightspace/D2L course template for all sections of the course, including learning activities, assessments, multimedia resources, and accessibility-focused design.
The project is expected to affect nearly 600 students annually and generate an estimated $42 K in yearly student savings.
