Upward Bound STEM Summer Camp

Faculty from the Departments of Natural Sciences and Mathematics & Statistics recently wrapped up the Upward Bound STEM residential camp on the Cochran campus. Supported by the Middle Georgia Center for Academic Excellence (MGCAE), this ongoing five-year partnership helps Bibb County high school students prepare for college.

During the camp, over 30 students worked alongside physics and math professors Edwynn Wallace, Imad El-Jeaid, Viktoriya Lanier, and Hannah Upperman to build functional microgrids and winches. The program concluded with students presenting their group projects to faculty and MGCAE Director Sheldon Brown, demonstrating their skills in project design, data collection, and teamwork.
