Middle Georgia State University has launched its inaugural Faculty Fans-in-Residence initiative, combining MGA faculty who care deeply about students with 11 Knights Athletics teams. As MGA continues its journey as an NCAA Division II institution, this new program is designed to strengthen the connection between academics and athletics while providing student-athletes with faculty champions beyond the classroom.
Each MGA athletics team now has a Faculty Fan-in-Residence who will serve as a visible supporter, advocate, and connector. These faculty members will attend games and events, build relationships with student-athletes, celebrate academic and athletic accomplishments, and help connect students with campus resources. Just as importantly, they will serve as an additional set of ears for MGA's Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR), Rebecca Edwards, helping identify recurring academic challenges or opportunities to make the student-athlete experience even stronger.
MGA extends its gratitude to these faculty members for establishing what hopes to become a lasting university tradition. Be sure to look for them on the sidelines, in the stands, and around campus this year. Go Knights!
