The Middle Georgia State University School of Health Sciences, along with the Better Business Bureau of Central Georgia, hosted its 15th annual Senior Expo on Thursday, June 28, at the Macon Centreplex.
Over 500 senior citizens registered to listen to presenters touch on topics such as legal services, reporting abuse, neglect and exploitation and financial safety. Over 70 community service organizations and sponsors also attended, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Georgia Department of Human Services, Coliseum Health System, Navicent Health, PruittHealth and Community Health Works.
The first Middle Georgia Senior Expo was held in the gymnasium at Macon State College in 2004, with about 100 attendees and 8 sponsors. Over the years it has grown to be the largest such event in the region.
