MGA Success at Math Tournament

One 137 students from five states and 14 colleges and universities competed in the University of North Georgia’s 24th Annual Mathematics tournament on Saturday, April 7, 2018, on the Gainesville campus.

Middle Georgia State University placed second among 37 competing teams in the afternoon team competition and fourth overall for the tournament.

Competing students from Middle Georgia State University were Wade Lee, Shani Edmond, Tevin Fudge, John Verboom, Benedict Tong, Gabriel Loos, Ryota Tsutsumi, Marquis Brown, and Jahbari Wallace.

Congrats to MGA Honors Program Students!

Congratulations to the four #MGA Honors Program students who presented research at the Georgia Collegiate Honors Council Conference held recently at Wesleyan College. Rachel Maddox won first place in the humanities essay contest, which included a $200 cash prize. The humanities judges also singled out sophomore Elley Gunter, whose essay was recognized as “Best History Paper.” Freshman Abby Embro was elected to the council’s executive board as student member-at-large.


2018 MGA Academic Bowl – Calling All Volunteers!

On Friday, March 2, 2018, Middle Georgia State University will host the 31st annual MGA Academic Bowl Competition for local high school students in the Teacher Education Building (TEB) on the Macon campus. As in past competitions, there is a need for volunteers to serve as question readers, scorekeepers, and timekeepers.
