Are You Ready for Fall?

Hello Knights!

We are looking forward to welcoming you back to campus in August.  Full on-campus operations begin on August 3 and classes begin August 12.  As you know, Fall will look different than before.  Due to COVID-19, we have implemented changes in order to comply with social distancing and other safety measures.  Our Return to Campus Plan provides those details, but what can you really expect?

  • Classes
    • New Rooms/Buildings – We are using non-academic spaces/rooms to accommodate social distancing within courses. Your classes may be in buildings and rooms that you’ve not had classes in before. Check your class schedule a couple of days before classes begin to make sure you know where your classes are located.
    • Methods/Structure – To accommodate social distancing while also allowing access to courses, your instructors may use a number of teaching methods/structures within a course. For example, some classes may have a different group of students each attending class one day a week while the alternate day of the course will be online.
  • Seating – In your classrooms and around campus, please look for signage/tape or other indicators on where you should sit or stand to support social distancing.  The facilities team has determined occupancy for each classroom, which will be posted outside of each room. Occupancy is defined as the number of students that can be in the room at one time. Additionally, furniture has been arranged to support social distancing throughout campus. Please do not alter those seating arrangements as they are for the safety of yourself and others.
  • Face coverings – You are required to wear face coverings that cover both your face and nose while indoors on campus. There are limited exceptions to this requirement, which are rooms within a residence hall or specific courses that have received approval. We will provide you four masks the first week of classes. Residential students will receive their face covering when they check into their residence hall.  Commuter students will be able to pick up their face covering during the first week of classes.  We are unable to mail face coverings.
  • Accommodations – For students who wish to request or inquire about accommodations due to COVID-19 risks or on-campus requirements, please contact the Office of Accessibility Services.
  • Meetings, appointments, and events – Check office websites before you visit to see the best way to get help, engage and learn safely. Check out what you can expect from these offices:
  • Return to Campus details – Visit our return to campus webpages with details for students, campus guidelines, and FAQs.
  • Stay connected with MGA and many of the offices and departments on social media sites and continue to check your MGA email for important messages.

Stay safe and we will see you soon,

Jennifer Brannon
