Ryan Ashford, adjunct faculty in the Department of Information Technology, recently participated in the Vintage Computer Federation East Expo held April 12-14 in Wall, New Jersey, US.

During the event, Ashford assisted with the delivery and installation of a Bendix G-15 computer from 1956 for the VCF Museum at the InfoAge Science Center. This significant addition to their collection will further enhance public understanding of early computing history.

While there, Ashford aided with troubleshooting and programming a Univac 1219 computer, a military mainframe computer from circa 1965. He also learned advanced restoration techniques for the 1950 – 1970 era IBM computers.

Back on campus, Ashford's commitment to preserving technological heritage continues. He is currently leading the restoration of two 1987 IBM Personal Computer AT systems acquired from the VCFE for display at the MGA Museum of Technology (MoT). Additionally, he brought back a Tandy 2000 system from 1983, which is already on exhibit at the MoT.
