MGA is coming together to kick off the 2026-27 academic year at the annual Convocation and campus picnic! This year's morning program at the Recreation & Wellness Center will focus on our upcoming goals, featuring an address from President Blake on the state of the University and an introduction to our new student success initiative, The Path to Knighthood. We will also take time to celebrate our community by honoring faculty award recipients and milestone service anniversaries.
Date & Time:
Thursday, August 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Please note that campus offices will be closed for normal business operations throughout the day so that all employees can fully participate in the main event and division meetings.
Attendance:
All full-time faculty and staff are required to attend the full day of events. Please block out your schedule now so you can join us. While attendance is optional for part-time faculty and staff, we would love to have you there if you are able to make it. (Essential emergency personnel may be excused from attendance to maintain campus safety, subject to approval from CBO Amanda Funches).
Transportation:
If you are coming from another campus, group transit is available. Shuttles will depart promptly from the Cochran campus at 8:00 a.m. You can secure your seat online here. Because the University is providing shared transportation, personal mileage reimbursements will not be available for this event. We appreciate your cooperation and early planning.
Attire:
The dress code for the day is business casual. There will be some walking between different venues on campus, so comfortable footwear is highly recommended.
Menu:
A BBQ buffet lunch will be served. Keep an eye out for a follow-up announcement detailing specific menu options and accommodation arrangements for dietary restrictions.
