CCLD Part Time Job Fair

August 17 & 19 | Macon & Cochran | 11 AM – 2 PM

The Center for Career & Leadership Development (CCLD)  will host the Part-time Job Fairs in Macon and Cochran to connect students with on-campus departments and local community employers.

  • Macon Campus: Monday, August 17, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Student Life Center Lobby
  • Cochran Campus: Wednesday, August 19, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Georgia Hall - President's Dining Room

Tips for success:

  • Bring at least 15 copies of your updated resume.  We strongly recommend that you use one of the resume samples that we have provided on our website.  Your resume should include your current education at Middle Georgia State University and descriptions of experiences from your part-time job, volunteer, and campus involvement experiences.  Do not put your picture on your resume.
  • Dress for success.  Business casual is your best bet for impressing potential employers.  Khakis, black pants, knee-length dresses/skirts, and button-down collared shirts or modest blouses work best in a business environment.  Think about what you’d expect to see in an office you are visiting.
  • Be positive, smile and introduce yourself to the organizations.  Having a quick introduction prepared can help you feel more confident.
  • Use the lists on Handshake to know who will be there.  For campus offices that are attending, go ahead and apply to their jobs on the HR website.  Applying ahead of time and then making that personal connection can go a long way!

Applying to Campus Jobs

Some on campus offices will be in attendance at the Part-time Job Fairs, but many more are posting their jobs to the MGA website To search campus jobs, go to www.mga.edu and search for “campus jobs” – this will give you the Human Resources website and the link to “Faculty, Staff, and Student jobs.”  You will need to create an account with your own password, and you must apply to each job separately with your resume.  Campus offices are posting jobs every day so you want to go back frequently in order to apply for as many jobs as possible.

For additional assistance on searching for part-time jobs, internships, full-time jobs, and graduate school opportunities as well as developing your leadership and soft skills, be sure to connect with the CCLD this year. You can schedule appointments with career advisors on Handshake and visit our offices in Macon (SLC 261), Cochran (Sanford 112), and Eastman (Terry Coleman Building 1129).
