Last fall, Middle Georgia State University partnered with the DeKalb County School Board to provide future educators with the IGNITE Teacher Residency Program as part of the Board's ongoing initiative to fill vacancies in Georgia's third-largest school system. The successful pipeline program is now expanding with Kennesaw State University and Clayton State University educating the second and third cohorts.
The IGNITE program’s introductory cohort of 49 students began its coursework and training with MGA in January 2024 and aims to graduate from the University this fall.
