MGA's Tyrone Smiley Named the 2026 NACAS South Regional Rising Star Awardee

Middle Georgia State University Executive Director of Auxiliary Services Tyrone Smiley has been named the 2026 NACAS South Regional Rising Star. This prestigious award recognizes one individual in each region who has provided excellent service and demonstrated the potential to assume progressively more leadership responsibilities within the field.

The Rising Star Award is reserved for professionals at NACAS member institutions who exemplify the ability and desire to excel in auxiliary services management. As the sole recipient for the South region, Smiley will be officially recognized and awarded a scholarship at the C3X Annual Conference & Expo during the Regional Breakfast.

This recognition follows Smiley’s recent achievement of the Certified Auxiliary Services Professional (CASP) designation, a nationally recognized credential that reflects a high standard of excellence in management, leadership, marketing, and operations. Earning the CASP designation—the only certification specifically focused on readiness for senior auxiliary leadership—placed Smiley in a select group of professionals and met a key preference for this regional award.

This recognition underscores a commitment to elevating the daily campus experience for every student and staff member. By championing these national industry standards, Smiley ensures that the vital services supporting campus life continue to evolve and excel alongside the university’s growth.
